Educating the gaze for a freer world
COLLABORATE ON THIS PROJECTfostering critical thinking in youth
At Bosco Arts, we believe in the importance of developing conscious viewers capable of interpreting and assessing the impact of audiovisual content on their lives.
For this reason, we created " Educating the Eye ," a program designed for teens, pre-teens, and their parents, with the goal of developing a more critical, free, and reflective perspective on the screens that surround them.
This program offers essential tools for cultivating a critical mindset and deeply discerning the underlying messages in the audiovisual content we consume daily. During a two-hour session, we guide participants on a journey to unravel the language of images, understand their hidden meanings, and reflect on their influence on our perceptions and values.
Educating the Gaze not only seeks to inform, but also to empower young people and families to be active viewers, capable of interacting with the content from a conscious and responsible stance.
Because understanding what lies behind the screens is the first step to regaining our inner freedom and making art and media a source of learning, connection, and beauty.
